			<description>Question:

Is it permissible for a woman to call the Iqamah for prayer or to pray without an Iqamah?

Answer:

The Athan and the Iqamah are prescribed for men and not for women, according to the narration of Al-Bayhaqi, on the authority of Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: It is not an obligation upon women to make the Athan and Iqamah.[1] Based upon this, what is legislated for the women is to leave the Athan and Iqamah.

Esteemed Shaykh, what is the preferable speech regarding the supererogatory prayer once the Iqaamah for the prayer is called?

Answer:

The preferable speech regarding the supererogatory prayer once the Iqaamah for the prayer is called, (is that) if one was in the second raka’ah, then he should complete (the prayer) lightly, and if he was in the first raka’ah he should cut the (supererogatory) prayer off.

			<description>Question:

What Is As-Salat Al-Wusta?

Answer:

As-Salat Al-Wusta is the ‘Asr Prayer. In an authentic Hadith, the Prophet sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said during the battle of Khandaq,

“They have kept us busy from As-Salat Al-Wusta.” (Al-Bukhari no.4111 and Muslim no.627)

Without a doubt, that is the ’Asr prayer. “Wusta” literally means the middle number, but here it means the best.

			<description>Question:

When people perform the prayer of Eid ul-Fitr in the musallaa of Fajr prayer, should they eat the dates of iftaar before they go to the Fajr prayer or is it better to return back to the family and then proceed out again for the Eid prayer?

Answer:

When it is not possible to return, we say do not leave the house without eating (at the time of Fajr), since by your departure you have intended to leave for the prayer of Fajr and Eid.
